Not only is it Friday, but it is also New Years Eve! This New Years I have two resolutions to help change myself for the better.

NUMBER 1: To be more open to seafood. Yes this may seem silly to some but I usually stay away from most kinds of seafood and feel it’s time to give it a chance. I plan to eat as many kinds of seafood within 2011, starting with crab legs next week!

NUMBER 2: To read and educate myself more on photography. I hope to spend at least 3 hours a week online, at the bookstore or at the library reading up on anything having to do with photography.

Hope everyone has fantastic evening!

Last week Brito, Graham and Sean at Phase 2 Tattoo Studio on Henderson Hwy. designated their full day to charity. From 12:00 Noon until 8:00 pm these three talented artists tattooed on a first come, first served basis with all proceeds donated to the Christmas Cheer Board. With a hefty hamper and raising $1400 they definitely were on Santa’s Nice List.

Victoria Anne Photography wishes everyone a happy holiday!

Today I had an engagement shoot with Jade and Devin, a couple from Calgary who is getting married next summer in Brandon, Jade’s hometown. It was a bit chilly at times, but with a Starbucks stop and warming up in the car while changing locations, we survived and ended up with some really amazing shots.

Looking forward to photographing the wedding next June!

One week away from Christmas Eve and life is busier then ever! Yesterday I attended a Christmas Party and at the end of the night a few of us shared a ride home from Operation Red Nose. I had never used Operation Red Nose before and was very unsure of the details. It was fantastic! For anyone who doesn’t know, Operation Red Rose is a volunteer run service that  is during the holidays for people who have been drinking and need a ride home. It is a free service that accepts donations. The volunteers picked us up, drove us home in the comfort of our friends car, dropped us off and wished us a happy holiday. For anyone who is interested in using the service or volunteering their web site is www.safetyservicesmanitoba.ca/rednose/ and phone number is 728-6673. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, and please don’t drink and drive.

This Friday I am not posting a photo but something I created this week. Happy Holidays from Victoria Anne Photography!

Yesterday I met Shay, Dave, Zoey and Kyran, a very loving and outgoing family for a family portrait session. We had the photoshoot at their home, which is always a great location for kids since it’s where they are most comfortable. Both Zoey and Kyran were polite and playful children with big beautiful smiles who were not shy to the camera.  Since it was -32 with the windchill we shot most of the photos indoor, though did bundle up to snap a few quick ones in the cold.

After a long, busy and cold week I am happy to say it is finally Friday. My photo this week is a behind the scenes shot from my photo shoot at APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) for the second season of Fit First.

This holiday season Victoria Anne Photography has gift certificates available. A great gift for couples, families or new proud parents.

I have been oh so busy this week with work in day and moving into my new apartment in the evening. It has been stressful and tiring, yet so much fun deciding where everything should go. I still have a lot more to do but at least it’s Friday. Here are a few shots of my new home. Have a good weekend everyone.

( Big thanks to Jeff for all the help )
